Inception

This project has been a long dream of mine.

To me the name “Tairum” has always held a mystical allure, I always felt a very strong bond to it. As a child, it was a secret badge of honor, it raised a question mark to all those who dared question it’s origins, origins that I was unable to ilustrate and still am not to this day. Later on, my teenage years painted it in the colors of rare individuality, a name echoing in the halls of my unique identity. Now in adulthood, the name becomes this wonderful enigma, a riddle whispering of ancient origins, unknown languages, and a journey through centuries, landing softly on the shores of the 21st century where we try to uncover it’s mysteries.

This genealogical journey began with a desire to delve deeper into the roots of our family tree. It started with the basics: gathering stories from close relatives, listening intently to their anecdotes and memories, poring over old photographs and cherished albums, and seeking the wisdom of the family elders, those keepers of our family history. Each conversation, each faded photograph, was a piece of the puzzle, carefully collected and noted. As the quest expanded, so did the methods. What began with intimate conversations evolved into a more technical exploration. Repositories of information were built, housing precious data and clues. Countless hours were dedicated to researching historical records, birth certificates, and immigration documents, weaving together the intricate tapestry of our lineage. The journey has been one of both personal connection and dedicated research, a testament to the power of uncovering our past.

The heart of this initiative, the growing family tree itself, along with all its resources, is being carefully cultivated on a database based on Gramps Web, an open-source platform specifically designed for genealogical research. This allows for collaborative exploration and expansion of our family history. The database currently resides on a private server, ensuring the security and integrity of our findings. Access is granted to those who wish to actively participate in the project, contributing their own knowledge and discoveries. But it’s also open to those who are simply curious about our heritage and want to explore the branches of our family tree, witnessing the progress made and the stories unearthed. This inclusive approach fosters a sense of shared ownership and invites everyone to become a part of this exciting journey of discovery.
